Esperanza Spalding...

Introducing yet another young, brilliant female multi-instrumentalist...born and raised in the King neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, Esperanza Spalding plays bass, violin, cello, etc. and is incredibly soulful and all-around beautiful. Learn more about her on Wiki or on her official website. Enjoy!

I love her hair! Reminds me of an old friend...what a beauty!

"I Get Down" review...

Someone from DJMag.com really liked this song, and I love the alliteration and throw-back references used in this brief but flattering write-up:

"Ooooh man, a Diamond D production! Yeah! Y'heard me! Fantastically spectral spooked stuff that chills the bones even in this hot summer, with brilliant shards of piano and strings and mellotron (set to William Castle settings) rolling under Collective Efforts' back'n'forth nonchalance. Propulsive and punchy and as utterly absorbing as anything he's done since the untouchable 'Stunts Blunts & Hip Hop'. You know you're gonna dig this."

Much love to TK...

Please send out love and positive vibrations to my little brother TK, who just found out that his dad just had three heart-attacks and is not doing well. I can't imagine what he must be going through right now (even though my own pops had bypass surgery and came pretty close to having a heart attack, I never actually thought that he wouldn't make it). They are telling Tommy that most people in his father's condition don't make it out of the hospital. Keep hope in your heart...

UPDATE: Just found out that he seems to be stabilized and getting ready to go home!
